Chalet Solästä
In 2021, Marie-Dominique and François embarked on a dream project—they built a rental cottage in the middle of a forest. The Solästä Chalet is located in a charming and idyllic setting, so it was important to have windows throughout for visitors to soak up all the gorgeous scenery. Find out how our team helped Marie-Dominique and François build this beautiful cottage.
Living in nature, even from indoors
Marie-Dominique and François are both nature lovers and were keen on designing a cottage in perfect harmony with the forest, using the wood from each maple cut during construction. This desire to incorporate and celebrate the natural surroundings also influenced their choice of windows, particularly in the living room where the couple opted for large, very low windows to bring in natural light and offer the best possible view.
Based on our recommendations, the four fixed windows on the ground floor were designed with tempered glass for better weather and thermal shock resistance. This is the type of advice that led Marie-Dominique and François to call on our expertise!
We had already bought Isothermic doors and windows for our house, and we wanted more of their great service for our cottage project. We didn’t have to shop around! - Marie-Dominique and François, owners of Chalet Solästä
A view that makes the most out of every square inch
Nothing was left to chance during construction of Chalet Solästä, where each room was designed to make you feel like you’re immersed in nature. The dining room is surrounded by white casement windows, so everyone at the table can enjoy gorgeous outdoor views.
Without a doubt, every square inch of the cottage was thought through, and we’re proud to have contributed to this peaceful getaway in Chaudière-Appalaches!
